Did you know that February is Feed the Birds Month? During this cold time of the year, our birds (and other wildlife!) need our help to find food. There’s no better time for Minna and the Canine Club’s Activities for Kids to make a pinecone bird feeder than now!
This activity is great for kids and adults of all ages! To make:
1. Find a pinecone in the woods.
2. Get your supplies: peanut butter, bird seed, and twine

3. Cover the pinecone with peanut butter.
4. Sprinkle bird seed all over the pinecone.
5. Hang the bird feeder on a tree and watch the birdsand wildlife come!

There are a few different kinds of animals that consider a pinecone a meal. They are chipmunks, woodpeckers, voles grouse, squirrels, and several birds.

To pair this activity with core curriculum, check out our Feed the Birds SOAR unit at www.minnaandthecanineclub.com/shop
