B to Behold God’s Creation – Each time I walk the beach I am compelled to praise God.  I am so amazed by his creation.  Everywhere I look I see God’s majesty in full display.  The question that enters my mind is “how can anyone believe this just happened, isn’t it obvious there is a creator?”  The Bible tells us this:

Job 12:7-9 – But ask the animals, and they will instruct you; ask the birds of the sky, and they will tell you.  Or speak to the earth, and it will instruct you; let the fish of the sea inform you.  Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?”

This brings me to an amazing fish.  In life this fish is called the Gaft Top Sail Cat Fish (Ariids).  This fish can give anglers a good fight.  While most catfish are found in fresh water the Sail Cat Fish if found in salt water.  The fish has a fin that looks like a sail.   In death this fish is called the Crucifix Fish as it clearly reminds us of the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Check it out….

Poem by Conrad S. Lantz

“Of all the fishes in the sea

Our Lord chose the lowly sailcat to remind us of His misery.

His body on the cross is outlined,

The hilt of the sword

Which was plunged into his side

Is clearly defined

Look at the back of the fishes bone

Where the Roman shield is shown.

When you shake the cross

You will hear the dice being tossed

For our Lords blood stained dress,

Those who can hear them

Will be blessed.”

I will never forget how thrilled I was when I found this bone on the beach.  I did not know what it was, but I did know it was something special.  Upon research I learned the bone is the skull of the Sail Cat Fish.  I was amazed when I read you could shake the skull and hear the sound of the dice.  I shook the skull and sure enough, I could hear the sound of the dice being tossed.  I ask myself, “is this just a coincidence?” NO WAY!  Next time you are on the beach seek to find the “Crucifix Fish.”  I must also say, take the time to seek Jesus Christ.  Isn’t nature trying to tell us something?  Shouldn’t we listen?  I promote finding treasures on the beach, but the greatest treasure of all can be find through accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior.  As I walk the beach I listen to some outstanding sermons from Tony Evans and Dr. Youssef (Leading the Way). Give yourself a break from the all the bad news on the media and seek the Good News.  You will be blessed!!!
