Today’s activity goes back to the classic days of radio. Back when families sat around a radio and listened to dramas, mysteries, and music together. There was no TV, no computers, and screen time wasn’t a thing. I like to imagine families sitting around together with a good cup of coffee and some sort of cobbler, but that’s just me! The cool thing about internet, though, is we have access to some of those old time radio programs! Why not gather the family around together today and listen to a few? Growing up in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s when our family had the radio we listened to music or to hear if our school was closed. We also tuned in to radio to listen to baseball games because in those days it was a treat if your favorite team was on tv. So, my brother and Dad would listen to Cincinnati Reds baseball games on radio. There were times when our radio wasn’t working so my brother and I would sit in our parent’s car and listen to the game! Today, I enjoy going to YouTube and listen to classic baseball games that were taped from radio.
