February is all about celebrating friendship and love. That is why the theme of our February contest is just that; the celebration of friends. The details of the contest are below!
February’s Minna and the Canine Club contest is for kids and adults alike! February is all about celebrating love and friendship, so send us photos, illustrations, and writings about what friendship means to you. This could be a funny story, a thoughtful memory, a picture of you and your friends, photos of your furry friends, poems, illustrations, paintings, or anything you can think of to show us how you celebrate friendship. Be creative! Send it to us via email here or tag us on Instagram or Facebook. All entries must be turned in by February 28.
We can’t wait to see what you have to offer for this contest! The winner of the contest will receive our February Friendship prize and you won’t want to miss it!
To kickoff our contest, Jessie has shared a special friendship memory, all the way back to fifth grade! Check it out!
“Blessed are they who have the gift of making friends, for it is one of God’s best gifts. It involves many things, but above all, the power of getting out of one’s self, and appreciating whatever is noble and loving in another.” Thomas Hughes said this profound statement on friendship. It reminded me of a project I completed in fifth grade when my teacher (who was also my mom!) instructed the students to write an encouraging note or compliment about each person in my class. I since then have kept the completed project of 20 plus encouraging notes from my fifth grade classmates. What a gift this was to receive at that age. It was also a gift that taught me to appreciate one another and express what is loving and noble to my fellow friends.
